About Northwest Arkansas Conservatory of Classical Ballet
The Conservatory is a registered school with London's Royal Academy of Dance. We are a 9 month school dedicated to teaching the true art of classical ballet, classical modern, and contemporary dance. We are beginning our fourth year and have approximately 225 students ages 2 and up. The Conservatory is the official school of NWA Ballet Theatre, the region's professional classical ballet company. The Conservatory produces the area's annual Nutcracker ballet at the Arend Art Center. We use the RAD syllabus as our foundation for the lower school and our upper school participates in the International RAD Vocational Exams. Once students reach Intermediate level they may also take classes that teach the Vaganova, Balanchine, and Cecchetti methods. The school also offers Classical Modern, Contemporary, and Conditioning classes. We are located in Bentonville, Arkansas, in the foothills of the beautiful Ozark Mountains. It is one of the fastest growing regions in the country and the home of the Walton Foundation and family (Walmart) who is dedicated to building this area into a premiere arts center. We have created an atmosphere of dignity and respect at our school and an appreciation for the true art of ballet. It is a very family friendly atmosphere and one which makes for a good work experience. Teachers and members of their immediate family may attend any classes for free.

We are seeking someone who is either a Registered Royal Academy of Dance Instructor or has passed the vocational exams. We will consider someone who has an eye for the technical aspect of dance who is willing to learn the RAD syllabus for the lower school work which includes Pre-Primary, Primary, and RAD Grades 1 and 2. Dance degree or professional experience is a plus, but not required. We will consider male or female. High moral character a must. Looking for experienced female teacher to take over for Female teacher leaving. Candidate will have student right away and be given most walk in students to sell. Start pay is $15.00/hr if checked out of Bronze and certified. This is possible move into management position as we develop new staff. Great City to live in with low cost of living. NWA Ballet Theatre is based in Northwest Arkansas, one of the fastest growing art centers in America thanks to the funding and efforts of the Walton Family (Walmart). Season consists of collaborations with the Arkansas Philharmonic Orchestra, Nutcracker, Carnegie Hall Educational Series, Autumn mixed repertoire production, MasterSeries production, Carnival of the Animals, Under the Stars with local live artists. On Tour roster for Arts Council, G.A.T.E.WAY Initiative - educational outreach, workshops and masterclasses offered by company members allows more income. Barre Society, the company guild works to promote the Adopt-a-Dancer program which gives the community the opportunity to fund the shoes and other necessities needed for company members. Will aid in finding supplemental employment if so desired.
