Welcome to MAD Theatre, this is not your ordinary dance studio. It is a school of the performing arts. The curriculum focuses on proper technique, creative movement, and performance as the foundation to the teaching of ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, and modern. Complementing this curriculum is creative dramatics, acting, and musical theatre. Through movement and dramatic action, Monet Angell Danse Theatre fosters creativity, imagination, critical thinking, and problem solving to perform, at the end of the year school year, a cohesive production that includes the skills and talents and performances of all the students.
As a teacher of MAD Theatre, you must have a degree in dance, which includes over 16 years of experience. All ballet teachers must be ready to be trained by the director, have example classes ready in hand, and have a choreography number ready in ballet and favorite dance style (no less than 2 minutes long). All teachers must have time in their schedule to teach their classes and rehearsals for the December Production and May Production. At MAD Theatre all students must audition for all parts in the productions. They will then be assigned rehearsal times. Class time is ONLY to teach the curriculum. All MAD Theatre teachers must have performance experience, the students dance, act, and sing in every production. We do not have recitals!
