Dance Studio is looking for talented classically trained performers interested in teaching one or more of the following dance styles: ballet, tap, theatre, drama, yoga, and jazz. This position is for summer but could transition into a permanent teaching position.
Interested candidates should be available some weekday mornings 9am-11:30 and some afternoons/evenings 12pm- 5pm. Canidate should enjoy working with young children ages 3-12 years of age.

Educationally, our extensive training program -- at no cost to you -- also offers a unique foot in the door into the world of fitness that costs trainers thousands of dollars to attain on their own. The hours are consistent and part-time. We are highly supportive of artists and traveling schedules.

Auditions:
Small group auditions will take place in the afternoon of Thursday, July 23rd from 11am to 4pm. Candidates are slotted into 15-minute small group auditions. There is nothing to prepare for the audition other than having taken class in advance. We simply want to see you do basic moves (grapevine, step-touch) in your own style, as if you were leading a class. Please bring sneakers/street shoes and clothes you are comfortable moving in. No costumes, please. If you'd like to get a sense for our look, please check out our video on the homepage. Callbacks will be Friday, July 24th from 11am -- 4pm.

TRAINING:
Training begins in early September and it will be a 10 week long intensive training. Training is unpaid. 15 hours of weekly commitment. Typically, training will be for 4-5 hours during the week (early AM) and 8 hours on the weekend (Saturday and Sunday afternoons/evenings). You must have a job where you can reasonably take off a few hours of work during the week. If you have concerns about our training schedule but think you are a good fit for our company, please audition regardless. We will find a way to make it work with your schedule if you will contribute something unique to our team. You can expect to begin teaching as a paid instructor on our schedule in the Fall of 2015.

Benefits:
It is our full intention to hire everyone who completes training as an instructor. Once hired as an instructor, you will begin with 1-3 classes per week. Your class schedule will ramp up over the course of a few months, eventually teaching 5-8 classes per week.
