You must have a job where you can reasonably take off a few hours of work during the week. Your Role:
Will work directly under the direction of Management to teach AOS’ curriculum. Will provide required daily and ad-hoc reporting to management and/or President & CEO depending on circumstances that may arise. Will require successful completion of AOS Company audition and unpaid training from the CEO and Management with heavy emphasis on AOS’ curriculum. Be assigned to a client (educational facility) to instruct the AOS curriculum trademarked/copyrighted program.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree or work experience equivalence (i.e. teaching experience> 3 years; dance experience >5 years)
• MUST have experience learning, teaching and performing ballet, jazz, modern and contemporary from foundational to advanced
• MUST have knowledge and ability to break down foundational skills and technique plus utilize appropriate dance vocabulary to be considered
• Must have daily access to a computer, laptop, online, email & cell-phone
• Must have computer skills (i.e. MS Office [Word & Excel], Social Media)
• Must be able to travel daily or when required to assigned contracted client location
• Experience teaching dance in a group class
• Comfortable working with children and adults

SIX: THE MUSICAL is seeking a Resident Choreographer for our National Tour.

The Resident Choreographer is an integral part of maintaining the artistic physical direction, style, and key artistic elements of the day-to-day running of the production.

The Resident Choreographer will work closely with our UK-based creative team, our US-based Associates, our general and company managers, and our teams backstage, including our crew.

The National Tour starts performances in Chicago on March 29, 2022. Rehearsals begin in New York City at the end of January.

Responsibilities include:

• Maintaining the choreography for SIX: The Musical on our National Tour.
• Working closely with the productions’ US-based Associate Choreographer, communicating production notes, collaborating on cast changes, and providing regular clean-ups and rehearsals.
• Maintaining the overall artistic quality of the production by working closely with the US-based creative team, including the Resident Director, Music Director and Production Stage Management team.
• Rehearsing new cast members and holding understudy rehearsals.
• Observing performances, providing notes to the current cast, and rehearsing cast members on an ongoing basis.
• Attending production meetings and technical rehearsals as needed.
• Providing advice and counsel to the producers and general managers regarding the production.
• Overseeing or assisting with choreographic-related issues in connection with special events relating to the production, such as live press events and television appearances.
• Participating in equity, diversity and inclusion, anti-harassment, and any other anti-bias training and workshops as scheduled by the Producers.
• Other services that may be required of a Resident Choreographer.

In addition to the above responsibilities, the Resident Choreographer will be required to travel extensively throughout North America, and to keep a traditional theatre schedule, including nights and weekends.

Psychosomatic Dance Seeking Well-Trained Male and Female Contemporary Dancers

We are looking for dancers who are well trained in ballet, contemporary, and/or jazz who are interested in working with up-and-coming choreographers on a regular basis. We will be developing work for upcoming performances in NYC and other US states.

Male dancers and dancers of color are strongly encouraged to apply!

Given the nascent stage of this endeavor, dancers are not paid for rehearsals but will be given a stipend for all performances. The co-artistic directors will pay for all studio time.

THE PROJECT: Woman Versus is a film about a woman's struggle to challenge the systems she was born into; and in the film those systems are represented by cars and trains. Essentially, the film deals with themes of oppression and the risks required to challenge it. The film will be shown in late June at the Go! Emerging Artists Commissioning Program Showcase at the STREB Lab for Action Mechanics.

DANCERS: Nine dancers are the central cast for the film, and extra dancers are also needed. I am looking for extra dancers, ages 21-35, for one scene taking place inside of a subway car. Dancers may also be needed to serve as "regular" (non-dancing) extras in a couple very short scenes (around 30 seconds).

DATES: Rehearsals will be held on Tuesdays, April 5th, 12th, 19th, and 26th from 8:45pm to 10pm at SLAM, 51 North 1st Street in Brooklyn. The film shoot will be on April 30th and May 1st (call times TBA).

CONCEPTS BY: Justina Grayman is a movement creator, dancer, and athlete with a background in contemporary/modern dance, gymnastics, and track and field. Most recently she has performed as a dancer in Corean Du's music video "It's Not Okay," danced in STAND: Stories within Stories created by Kristin Sudeikis Dance, and toured Canada with the STREB Extreme Action Company as a company member. Own vehicle is a huge plus but not a requirement.
