MODERN DANCE INSTRUCTOR

CONTEMPORARY DANCE INSTRUCTOR

Southeast Portland dance studio looking for an acro/tumbling instructor, hip hop instructor and a Competition Director. If you have any of the following skills please respond ASAP! IMMEDIATE OPENING.

Acro/Tumbling - immediate position -Wednesday 5-7 through August (4-7 in September) Levels 1-3. Ages 6+. Level 3 up to Aerials and working on back hand springs. Mats available.

Hip Hop - immediate position - Thursday 5-7 through August plus more in fall. Level 2-3 (basically intermediate one is higher than the other). Ages 9+.

Competition Director - Opening immediate to soon! Must have experience in choreographing for local, regional and national level in multiple styles. Able to choreograph for solos, duos, trios, groups, organize competitions, choose costumes, music, work with parents and dancers, etc.

Qualities we are looking for in any of the above positions:
*Commitment to our studio and kids! For more than one year or less!
*High Energy - ability to excite and energize and motivate dancers!
*Experience in teaching and performing a plus.
*Skills to organize a competition group and direct.
*Love to teach and love to work with kids!
*For Director - willing to work with owner and take on responsibilities and be able to step in when needed, be supportive, ability to lead!

Pacific University Department of Dance is currently seeking a part-time Ballet teacher for 2013 -2014 school year to train both Dance Major and Non-major students, from beginning to Advanced levels. The university is located in Forest Grove, Oregon, approximately, 35-40 minutes outside of Portland from highway 26 West.

The Dance Program at Pacific offers a BA in Dance with an emphasis on performance and choreography. Courses offered range from Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, Dance History, Choreography, Dance Kinesiology, etc.

The Dance program has a Pre-Professional university dance company, Pacific Dance Ensemble, performing in two major shows a year on campus and performances in regional events off campus.
